Disease X : In 2019, the world faced severe challenges through the spread of coronavirus, causing thousands of fatalities. Scientists from all over the world worked tirelessly and efficiently to create a vaccine that could help prevent coronavirus.
After three years, coronavirus has become normal, but that is no longer our concern anymore as the scientists are wary of the next outbreak. The chief of the World Health Organization recently said that the world should get ready and be prepared for another pandemic, which might be even deadlier than coronavirus.
After this statement, the healthy body website started showing the priority disease that might become one of the upcoming deadliest pandemics.
A list has been shortlisted in which all the possible diseases are mentioned which could cause the next deadly pandemic. The names of the diseases are Ebola, Sars, and Zika. But one name that could become a cause of concern for the world is Disease X.
According to the WHO website, it “represents the knowledge that a serious international epidemic could be caused by a pathogen currently unknown to cause human disease.”
Disease X is still unknown. It might be a fungus, virus, or bacterium without known treatments. It still needs to be discovered.
WHO started using this term in 2018, and right after one year, Covid 19 began to spread across the world.
The researcher at the Department of International Health passed a statement in which he highlighted that it is not an exaggeration that the potential of Disease X is just around the corner.
This disease has stirred a lot of questions in the world as many experts tend to say that this next disease will be just like Ebola and Covid19, a zoonotic disease. While others said, humans would be the cause of this disease.
Health experts want additional funds to take precautionary measures to develop countermeasures.
